Police fired rubber bullets to disperse crowds as businesses remained shut At least 24 vehicles have been set ablaze and foreign-owned shops looted in South Africa as anti-immigration protests descended into violence in two major cities, police say. Clashes broke out on Thursday in Soweto, a sprawling township outside Johannesburg, the country's largest city, and Durban, a major port on the east coast. The violence comes amid growing anger over a court ruling requiring the government to remove barriers that had prevented some migrants from applying for asylum. South Africa has experienced repeated outbreaks of xenophobic violence, often targeting migrants from neighbouring countries.

The $11-a-share offer would have been the biggest debut on the stock market since the telecommunication giant in 1997 Firmus Technologies has scrapped what was set to be Australia’s biggest company listing in decades after investor demand for its much-hyped AI datacentre business failed to materialise. A Firmus spokesperson said the board decided that proceeding with the offer was no longer in the best interests of the company and its shareholders. “Firmus will now pursue capital from the private markets and consider alternative public and private market options,” the spokesperson said on Friday morning. “We will provide additional information to shareholders as those options progress.”

I write a golf blog. Recently, it's been getting a nontrivial amount of attention from a very niche section of the nerd-golf community. I've been getting a small number of emails and message from people because of this. This is how it has been going: Me: Oh, this is a nice email. Just FYI, Pangram doesn't really like your writing style. Them: Ahh, you got me.

After I type ‘git reverse ’ in the terminal of vscodium, it always throws this message at me. Then as the hints say, I type ‘git status’, fix the error, then commit and push again. But again the same message shows and I have no idea what to do. Getting mad as a beginner. As i found no useful guides online, please help me to fix this issue without AI. git revert does not go back to that commit, it takes the changes that are in that commit and tries to create a new set of changes that are the opposite, i.e. undo the changes of that specific commit. You could have known that by reading the official documentation of that command, which says essentially the same thing: “Given one or more

Asos has told its customers that hackers are in possession of detailed profiles of potentially millions of the online store's users. It issued the update after BBC News told the retailer it had been contacted by cyber criminals who said this week's breach went beyond the "basic contact details" Asos previously said might have been accessed. Israel KILLED Americans? Quick! Give them BILLIONS more Dollars in US Taxpayer Money! When Trump’s literal reign of terror is over, I can’t wait for whatever Bibi had on him to be released. They heard the perpetrator was in Gaza. Gotta level a city to make sure we got the guy. Biden hid it. As did his entire administration. Nothing will change. Israel owns the place.

The new OSS Scanner service offers vulnerability reports from Anthropic’s “strongest models,” including Mythos. Anthropic’s offering to help open-source projects track down security vulnerabilities with a new service called OSS Scanner . It says open-source projects that opt-in will get “thorough, periodic security scans by our strongest models at no cost.” That could mean open-source projects get alerted about possible security issues sooner, but the trade-off is that OSS Scanner’s reports don’t come with human review: The outputs of this opt-in vulnerability scanner will be fully model-generated, without human review or triage. This will enable faster and more frequent scanning, but means

“These led to conjunctions of tens of meters to hundreds of meters. Way too close to comfort.” Space has plenty of room for more megaconstellations, but only if all operators are willing to share information about where their satellites are and where they’re going, a top executive at SpaceX and its AI subsidiary said this week. Michael Nicolls, SpaceX’s vice president for Starlink and president of Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, used a presentation Tuesday at the International Astronautical Congress in Turkey as a clarion call for improved data-sharing among satellite operators. SpaceX’s Starlink constellation now has more than 11,000 satellites, about two-thirds of all
