Nouman Essghir, also 24 and from Westminster, has been charged with entering a prohibited place for a purpose prejudicial to the UK on 22 August - weeks before he was arrested near the airbase in Gloucestershire alongside four other men. A major incident was declared after three suspicious vans were seen near the US-operated airbase on 27 September.

Artificial intelligence (AI) firm Anthropic just released the required paperwork ahead of its long-anticipated debut on the US stock market. The 335-page document included fresh details of how the Claude chatbot owner makes money, what it spends that money on and who it is controlled by. Tom Phillips, a longtime chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court and a staunch Republican, endorsed Democrat James Talarico in the Texas Senate race on Monday. In an op-ed published in the Austin American-Statesman , Phillips, a Republican who served as the state’s chief justice from 1988 to 2004, said that he believed that Talarico would be a better representative of Texas in the Senate, and more willing to engage in productive bipartisanship. We often get asked "How can I eliminate panics in my Rust code?" There have been several attempts to tackle this issue. Under the Open Device Partnership and working together with Microsoft, we have developed and released the Call Graph Analyzer (CGA) , a tool to extract the callgraph from monomorphized MIR . This callgraph can be used to track down what functions in the compiled binary can panic. In this blogpost we discuss why this new approach is both better and worse than pre-existing approaches at finding panics. Now, with all that telemetry in place and a coding agent I can finally engage with production properly: not reactively when something goes wrong, but every day I can chat with the production, ask it about its concerns, about what is going on lately, if something feels wrong. A lot of people are leaving software engineering because agent-based workflows killed their joy. I don’t have that problem; I never liked the job in the first place.

Should states have sought more in their kids online safety settlement? When attorneys general from across the US announced a $17 billion settlement with Meta this summer, the sum was unprecedented. But a ruling last week by a New Mexico judge blew that number out of the water. The judge ordered Meta to pay $25 billion to resolve claims that Meta misled users around the 2018 Cambridge Analytica scandal and related incidents. Similar claims were resolved by the settlement with most other states. The outcome raised an obvious question: Should these states have asked for more?
