Officers determine post by Sarah Helm, seen to endorse Palestine Action, does ‘not meet the criminal threshold’. Police in the United Kingdom have determined that a social media post by the wife of Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s national security adviser that appears to endorse Palestine Action , a group proscribed in the country as a “terrorist” organisation, does not merit a criminal investigation. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson on Saturday said that officers looked at Sarah Helm’s post and ruled that it “did not meet the criminal threshold. No further police action will be taken.” The police had said on Friday that Helm’s post was “being assessed to determine whether any further

Toulouse are the most successful club in Champions Cup history, winning the competition on six occasions Tries: Capuozzo, penalty try, Brennan, Thomas, Remue 2, R Ntamack Cons: R Ntamack 3 Toulouse denied Exeter Chiefs a famous Champions Cup victory in France, fighting back to win a frenetic pool game with 14 men following Rodrigue Neti's first-half red card. Exeter had the chance to force a draw but, with the clock in the red, Henry Slade missed a penalty from about 40 metres out. Zack Wimbush, starting on the wing for Exeter in place of injured England international Immanuel Feyi-Waboso, scored a hat-trick of tries as the 2020 champions fell just short of winning a classic contest.

After chatbot startup Character.AI filed for bankruptcy earlier this week, many of its employees will have the opportunity to take jobs at Disney. Character.AI’s former CEO Karandeep Anand recently became the entertainment giant’s first CTO , and the startup previously said that Disney had agreed to acquire some of its assets for $20 million. A legal filing spotted by Bloomberg revealed more details about the agreement between Character.AI and Disney, with Disney agreeing to make employment offers to at least 60 Character.AI employees — the majority of the workforce — paying them an estimated $60 million in annual compensation. The filing also says that the “vast majority” of Character.AI

This claim is false. There's no such requirement. And if there were, it would be needless and wholly unreasonable. help chapz 3 hours ago [–] You mean you need permission to show notifications to join a meeting? I think it is needed otherwise the system would kill the app and the call as soon as you either leave the app (which is possible while having an ongoing call) or

There are gifts for men. And then there are manly men gifts. Countless gift guides for the men in your life offer up the same neckties and tool sets and tasteful leather belts. And don't get us wrong: We're classy people, too. We like only the finest T-shirt a Savile Row tailor recommends , and anything themed for whiskey. But this is a guide to the manliest gifts made for man men, menly objects ranging from the most classic of man totems to the most ridiculously hypermasculinized . Welcome to the red-hot tropics of the manosphere. Mere regular soap will not do when soap with the word “men” on it also exists . No mere shaving for us, when shaving can be aggressive . Enjoy. People who study how to convince people are more trusted than people trained to talk in technical jargon about specific fields. Shocker there. People are emotionally driven. Everyone is, to an extent. Scientists are less likely to use that to support their point, or they’ll have emotionally displeasing things to say. Eh… shitty people exist outside of the United States. We just happen to be very loud about it. Take, for example, the British. They’re huge assholes, too. Have been for centuries. And everyone hated them the most long before we Americans came along. And, of course, it makes total sense that our country is one of their offspring, so to speak. Funny how the Canadians turned out

In a social media post ahead of Israel’s October 27 election, Trump calls Netanyahu a ‘Strong, Brave, and Brilliant’ leader. United States President Donald Trump has issued an endorsement of Israel’s incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is facing a close race in parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27. In a post on Truth Social on Sunday, Trump praised the Israeli leader for being an ally of the US in its war on Iran. He added that he was giving his “Complete and Total Endorsement” to Netanyahu. The US president’s backing comes nine days before the Israeli election — and after speculation that it might not come at all. Trump had refused to endorse Netanyahu earlier this

Write Mermaid syntax, Pele renders it to SVG. Try editing the example below. Use CSS variables to set colors and fonts. Color changes apply without re-rendering. Zero dependencies, 6× smaller, and up to 500× faster than Mermaid.js. Pele supports every diagram type built into Mermaid 12.1.0. Pass Mermaid syntax to render() and insert the returned SVG into your page. Pele is open source , developed for Obsidian to render diagrams quickly and match your theme. It is named after Pele , the goddess of volcanoes and fire.

I was very slow to use AI coding agents. It seems like a lot of programmers never actually liked programming and are thrilled to have a machine do it for them. But I like programming! That's the fun part! Even for programmers who like programming, I know a lot of people feel like they have to use AI to keep up with the competition, especially in a tough job market. But my business is actually having one of its best years ever. So I figured, if I like programming, why not keep programming? I wasn't blind to what was going on around me, though. A lot of slop and hype, but a lot of real stuff too. Engineers I have respected for years saying they no longer write code. Non-programmers

Two people killed and at least 17 injured as Russia and Ukraine continue to trade strikes on power infrastructure Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday thanked the Trump administration for resuming intelligence sharing between the two countries, but maintained the US had intentionally throttled its Starlink satellite internet access so that Donald Trump could send a “message” in his ongoing feud with the Ukrainian president. In an interview on NBC, Zelenskyy said the US had “unblocked” intelligence on impending Russian ballistic missile strikes, which have pounded the country’s energy infrastructure as winter draws in. “It was blocked for some period of time. And then it was deblocked by the

Police say no further action will be taken against the wife of the government's national security adviser after she posted on social media referencing Palestine Action. Sarah Helm, who is married to Jonathan Powell, wrote on X on Thursday: "God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action." She was responding to a discussion about the author Sally Rooney, whose novels will not be supplied to booksellers in the UK following her announcement that she intends to use her royalties to support the proscribed organisation. On Saturday, the Metropolitan Police said Helm's post was "assessed by specialist officers and it was determined that it did not meet the criminal threshold". On

Wikipedia’s 68m articles have been consulted trillions of times. Not bad for a website that has barely changed since it was founded 20 years ago A few years ago, I was struck by the tension between how Wikipedia was used, and how it was talked about. Everyone was on it all the time, and yet its reputation had stalled at “don’t trust it”, because it was the “free encyclopedia that anyone can edit”. Clearly people were trusting it, so much so it had become part of the fabric of everyday life since it was founded by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger in 2001. But despite the fact it now has been consulted trillions of times by billions of people (English Wikipedia alone is 5.2bn words long), it
